Some good things can come out of Insomnia
I had another episode of insomnia last night. I started sleeping at around 1 AM but was still awake until the morning that I decided to just take a bath and go to the office. *sigh*
My insomnia was compounded by the leaking roof of my room. The first drips came at around 2 AM, it was a distraction but not enough to distract me if I can play some music set to a soft level. But at 4:30, it began to drip furiously. That was the time I gave up hope of being able to sleep and just listened to my beatles collection.
At around 6 AM, at the slightest hint of our landlady being awake, I immediately reported the problem. At this point, my room is already drenched that I can't even find a decent spot to put a foam in and sleep. So, I donned my malong, folded it to make a makeshift skirt, and went outside. You might think that a man wearing a skirt is hilarious, but me donning my makeshift malong skirt is so asteeg, that I look like evil Illadan. Its in the way you fold it. ;)
So there I was, out in the sunshine, at around 6 AM, looking at the sunrise,.. naked, except for that malong skirt,.. listening to the songs of the birds that I haven't heard for so long,.. looking at a beautiful sunrise that I never knew was visible from the vantage point of my place,.. feeling the cold feel of metal on my bareskin, while leaning on the gate. And the soundtrack of this momentous occasion : Beatles!
The funny thing about this is that I never would have enjoyed that beautiful moment without that %^&* insomnia and that %^&* leaking roof.
Clearly, some good things can come out of our misfortunes.
